Cai Hongping: Robotization is the only way to develop manufacturing industry

China’s robots will grow at a rate of more than 30% between 2013 and 2019, and currently they can’t find such a fast pace in the industrial sector. At present, the growth rate of robots in China is 30%. I want to tell you that 85% of them are Kuka and Meimei. Fortunately, Kuka was acquired by the United States.

When I was discussing with them in Germany, we talked about strength, accuracy, stability or what degree. Finally, the Germans said no, the Chinese people are too anxious and capricious. What you lack is attitude, that is, two generations do one thing to the end. I think there is too much hype, too much capital promotion, and really do one thing to achieve it. It’s not easy for everyone to be obedient and respected. The country talks about the spirit of craftsmen, which I think is very good.

I have said that when the Fourth Industrial Revolution comes, we should change some strategies, change the original self-reliance into self-improvement, and integrate international resources. In the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, there are a lot of opportunities. I speak more honestly. I speak to the industrialists in Foshan. We hype too much. Let’s see which industries are really driving the development of national economy. In my opinion, there are four big ones. The first one is robots, the second one is electric vehicles, and the third one is electric vehicles. New materials, such as graphene, lithium batteries, ternary cathode materials, etc. At present, how fast is the speed of robots? Statistics from 2016 to 2019 will increase at a rate of 15%. The popularity of robots is very fast. China accounts for one third of the market.

China’s robots will grow at a rate of more than 30% between 2013 and 2019, and currently they can’t find such a fast pace in the industrial sector. The popularization rate of robotization in the West refers to the number of robots in 10,000 people. China is very low and Korea is the highest. At present, there are 400 robots in 10,000 people. Our proportion is only a few dozen. It is very clear and very low on the table. Germany, Japan and Korea are very high. The number of robots in 10,000 people is between 400 and 600. At present, we have less than 50 sets. This space is very large.

Just now, President Cai Fang said very well. Now, industrial upgrading should change from the development of population dividend to the development of technology dividend. I think the only way to develop manufacturing industry is robotization. I once said that the third industrial revolution is to turn people into machines, and the fourth industrial revolution is to turn machines into people. Where? Robots can be divided into three categories. One is a gripper, spray painting and welding in traditional automation. It is part of automation. It is a kind of robot. Most of them are robots on the production line, and the main enterprises in our country are attacking this kind of robots. But I want to tell you that this is very challenging. What worries us is that this kind of old industrial robots, our country is almost hovering at the low end, the core three components, the mechanization of the old industrial robots is driven by mechanics and gears, the mechanical algorithm is very high, a robot 100 yuan, 35 yuan is a reducer. We don’t have these. Today, they are monopolized by Japan and Germany. Nearly 25% of the money is for servo motors and control systems, and neither do we. The third one is the end gripper, especially the fine end gripper. We don’t have it either. At present, several large domestic robots are ontology, assembly, software, most of the robotics companies are doing system integration, about 50 or 60 engineers do assembly, this piece is really not easy, now there are Jiangsu Zhengkang out, there are beautiful out to make reducer, but you do not recognize you, because it has to be certified. 。 At present, the growth rate of robots in China is 30%. I want to tell you that 85% of them are Kuka and Meimei. Fortunately, Kuka was acquired by the United States. But ABB and UR are moving forward on a large scale. As long as our gear reducer is made, Japan and Germany will immediately reduce the price. As soon as the price is reduced, you will not be able to survive. The gross profit is more than 35%. If you do it, you will not keep up with it as soon as he presses it. This is a worry for low-end robots at present.

It’s not that there is no way out. We still have two kinds of robots that have a big market in China. We should start with the human-computer cooperative robot. At present, a large part of the human-computer cooperative robot is not dependent on the reducer. It relies on intelligence, sensing, network and data. This Chinese people have great advantages. Next is the service robot, which is B2C. The home sweeping robot is doing very well. In the future, the aging is very big. The service robot relies on intelligence and sensing, where is our big space. At present, the bend overtaking we are carrying out is not to fight with others on the traditional production line. We mainly focus on 3C, computers, mobile phones, medical packaging. This requires man-machine cooperation robots. I think our country has the opportunity, especially Shenzhen enterprises, including Foshan enterprises, to attack. We are also working with you in this field. Do it together.

Then there is another big thing that service robots, service robots from Japan and so on, did not start, what is the reason, not technology, there is no huge application market. This is a unique advantage of China. We have invested in UB robots. It is a very small intelligent robot. With the rapid development of science and Technology University and the sound transmission, we have Tencent. The 5G era is coming soon. Our spare parts supply is very abundant. China may be on man-machine cooperative robots and service robots. Play a greater role.

Let me make it clear that service robots and human-computer cooperative robots, in turn, may be the end-effectors of AI. I once said a crazy word. I said that in ten years, Chinese people may work for three days and rest for four days. This day will surely come. Because after the emergence of AI, bankers, lawyers and diagnostic doctors are all gone. I think AI is to replace white-collar workers. Industrial robots are to replace blue-collar workers. What do they say people do? People can entertain, create, and do all kinds of meaningful things. I think our way out should be here. There is a great chance. Don’t compete with the old ones. Let’s go straight to the corner and overtake. I think there is a great chance.
